Profile: Craig Denning of Dream Mechanics

The founder of Dream Mechanics, Craig Denning, is a passionate cyclist, with a life-long interest in cycling, who still regularly competes.

Craig has grown up riding both bicycles and motorcycles. His competitive cycling career started at the age of 16 years in Mountain Biking and soon expanded to Cyclo Cross and Road Racing. Now in his 30’s he has raced and won at nearly every discipline competing in many Regional and National Championships. After a couple of seasons away from competitive racing Craig returned winning the 06/07 Western Cyclo Cross series and was first British rider over the line at the Cyclo-Cross World Championships in Mol, Belgium.

With this passion for cycling, a career in the industry seemed inevitable. Having spent his younger years building and maintaining many bicycles and motorcycles, becoming a professional mechanic seemed the natural step. Since the age of 21 years Craig has been a professional mechanic, 6 of those years with the Great Britain Team. He has travelled the world both racing and as a mechanic, extensively in Europe and America, supporting many winning athletes at numerous Nationals, Europeans, Worlds, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. Craig is a fully qualified CyTech NVQ Level 2 Mechanic and has attended many industry courses including Shimano, Rock Shox, Sram, Fox.

Craig’s skill and talent as a rider gave him the opportunity to be involved in ride leading and coaching. He has been working in this field professionally for 5 years but in reality for many more. He has coached and led rides in Spain on training camps, in France for E’Tape preparations camps, led rides on Tour De France Stages and mountain bike rides in Wales and England. He is a qualified BC National Club Coach.
